Truly nice example of a black-class and/or early-type black wound badge (ie.: 'Verwundeten Abzeichen in Schwarz'), being an early and/or very detailed so-called: 'Spanish Civil War' version - very nice, albeit clearly used ie. worn, condition!

  1. Wound Badges

This is a truly nice - albeit clearly used and/or worn - example of an black wound badge (ie. 'Verwundeten Abzeichen in Schwarz'), being of the rarely observed - ie. early-period - aka 'Spanish Civil War'- (ie. 'Legion Condor'-) version, in overall very nice, albeit moderately used and/or worn, condition. The (magnetic-) badge - which is an unmarked version as is more often encountered - shows moderate wear ie. age and has lost some of its original black-painted colour (mainly on the swastika-area), showing some of its (IMO) steel-based underlay. The badge, which comes on its functional (copper-based-) pin and that has an undamaged and functional catch, still retains extraordinary and/or pronounced detail. I am of the opinion that the piece on offer here is a 100% genuine, period example that simply shows fair wear and/or dust caused by ages of storage and/or fair wear: it originates from a German flea-market and was never before in a collection. The piece was most certainly never cleaned nor polished and comes as found. In any case a very nice and original specimen that is priced according to its moderately used ie. worn condition!
